Experience/Background:

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with clinical experience treating substance use and co-occurring disorders. Some of the issues I frequently work with include: alcohol and drug use, process addictions, anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships/family dynamics and challenges related to life transitions. Prior to joining Renewing Hope, I worked at Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center (also known as the “PaRC”) in the Professionals and Executives program.

Orientation/Approach to Counseling:

I use a variety of theories and orientations to deliver effective treatment based on your needs.
I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and will work with you to establish an open, trusting environment for healing and growth to take place.

The process of selecting a therapist can be overwhelming. Whether you are considering therapy for the first time or returning for a tune-up, I encourage you to reach out for more information. I look forward to meeting you in person and beginning the journey to healing!

About Melissa:

Although born in Louisiana, I consider myself a native Houstonian. I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, being outdoors as much as possible, and traveling with my husband. In my free time, you can find me eating Mexican food, singing in my car, or sweating in a Define or Orange Theory class.
