I believe therapy should feel like a safe and welcoming place where people can breathe, be themselves, and begin to grow. My passion is helping individuals—especially children, teens, and young adults—develop the skills and confidence they need to navigate life’s challenges in healthier, more hopeful ways. I want my clients and their families to feel supported, understood, and empowered, so that change doesn’t feel overwhelming but possible.
Much of my work is with children and adolescents learning how to manage big emotions and express themselves in ways that lead to growth instead of conflict. I also work with families, helping them find healthier ways to communicate, strengthen connection, and build patterns of support that encourage both family unity and individual independence. For me, therapy is about more than just problem-solving—it’s about giving people the tools and confidence to face life with resilience and hope.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas with more than eight years of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I am currently working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist and have extensive training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I’ve worked with clients facing trauma related to abuse, domestic violence, and immigration stressors. I am also trained in Triple P (Positive Parenting Practices), equipping parents with tools to strengthen relationships and guide their children more effectively. My background includes working as a teacher in inner-city Houston and collaborating closely with schools to provide individual and group counseling. I’m a proud member of the Texas Counseling Association and the National and Texas Association for Play Therapy.
My counseling style blends structure with flexibility. I build trust first—because when children and families feel genuinely heard and safe, that’s when real growth happens. From there, I draw on a variety of approaches depending on each client’s needs, including play therapy (both directive and non-directive), CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, social skills building, and family-based strategies. Every client is unique, and I believe in meeting people exactly where they are in their journey.
At home, I’m a wife and mom to two strong-willed, beautiful girls who keep life busy and full of laughter. My husband and I have been married for more than a decade, and some of our favorite moments are the simple ones—sitting in the backyard together listening to Texas Country music. When I’m not cheering on my daughters at sports and activities, you’ll probably find me spending time with family, shopping, trying out my latest Pinterest project, or relaxing with a mandala coloring book and music playing in the background.
