LPC Intern

I believe counseling begins with a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and respect. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself and feel genuinely heard and understood. Your well-being and making meaningful, lasting change are my priority. I believe gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves is vital to healing.
I combine compassionate listening with a variety of therapeutic techniques. Depending on your needs and goals, I may incorporate approaches such as person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and a wide array of evidence-based interventions so each client can better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I work collaboratively with children, teens, couples, and adults to understand the whole person and develop strategies that fit their needs, values, and goals. My approach is individualized because I don't believe there is a single formula for healing. You are more than a diagnosis or a problem to be solved. Together, we can explore what you're experiencing, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, identify your strengths, and develop practical steps toward meaningful change. I genuinely enjoy helping others recognize strengths they may not see in themselves and seeing positive changes happening in each session towards growth.
I am passionate about helping couples and marriages navigate difficult seasons, even those that may at times feel impossible to overcome. I also work with clients experiencing depression, stress, ADHD-related challenges, self-esteem concerns, anxiety, family difficulties, significant life transitions, parenting struggles, grief and loss, and other life challenges.
My path to counseling has been shaped by a genuine desire to help people grow—first as an educator, then as a mother, next as a fitness instructor, and now as a counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education at Texas A&M University and began my career as an elementary school teacher. I am also a Certified Pure Barre instructor. I believe our emotional and physical well-being are deeply connected. Exercise, intentional breathing, movement, and other healthy lifestyle practices can play an important role in managing stress and supporting emotional health. Currently, I am a counseling intern pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Christian University. I truly enjoy connecting with clients, understanding their individual needs, helping them recognize their potential, then inspiring them to go beyond it.
The Northeast will always hold a special place in my heart. I was born in Pennsylvania and spent my early childhood in New Jersey, but Houston has been home for most of my life. My three teenage kids are my biggest passion in life! My oldest is currently an Aggie, so I enjoy attending sporting events in Aggieland.
I enjoy fitness, running, and hiking. Being outdoors and in nature is very therapeutic for me. I love baking and crafting. I am always thinking of my next creative project!
