Pablo Antonio Melendez

Supervised by Laurie Aguirre, LPC-S
My mission as a counselor is to help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives by first helping them understand themselves. I believe every person has the potential to thrive, but sometimes barriers—whether emotional, relational, or situational—get in the way. Through compassionate care and practical strategies, I walk with clients as they uncover what’s holding them back and take steps toward living their best life.
My therapeutic style is eclectic and flexible, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rogerian (person-centered) techniques, and mindfulness practices. This allows me to meet each client where they are, tailoring therapy to their unique needs and goals. At the core of my work is building a relationship of trust, safety, and respect, so that meaningful change can happen.
I work with children (age seven and up), teenagers, and adults, as well as families and couples. Much of my focus is on helping kids and teens with behavioral and relational challenges, supporting men who are navigating complex family dynamics, and walking with couples as they face parenting struggles. No matter the situation, I aim to help clients grow in self-awareness, strengthen their relationships, and find healthier ways to navigate life’s challenges.
Originally from Washington, D.C., I taught for more than ten years at an all-boys private school before completing my Master of Science in Counseling at Divine Mercy University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America. Fluent in Spanish, I enjoy connecting with people across different cultures and perspectives. Outside of counseling, I spend much of my free time with friends, reading, or traveling—experiences that keep me grounded, curious, and continually learning.
