Daniel Hayes, M.A., LPC
My Mission:
My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, objective, and collaborative environment in which to help you work through any concerns or challenges you may be facing. I can help you learn new skills and ways of thinking and give you guidance and tools to help you accomplish your goals.
My Focus:
I serve individuals (10 years or older) and specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. By balancing compassion and honest feedback, I can help you change unhealthy patterns of behavior to become your healthiest best self or provide support through a challenging life event or crisis.
My Experience:
I have extensive clinical experience working with children, teenagers and adult men and women. I have had professional training and experience in a neurobiology research lab, a residential treatment center and a psychiatric hospital. My research at the University Of Texas Health Science Center consisted of analyzing the various pathways in the brain associated with addiction. I have experience treating mood disorders, addictions, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders.
My Technique:
I follow a cognitive-behavioral therapy model that examines the client as a whole, focusing on the interaction of one’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I utilize a collaborative, supportive approach to teach CBT tools for thinking differently about situations, in order to improve happiness and change negative thinking.
About Me:
I am a native Houstonian and a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. I have family that live in Brazil and I enjoy visiting them whenever I get a chance. I speak Portuguese fluently and Spanish semi-fluently. In my free time I enjoy staying active around Houston, watching and playing sports and spending time with my friends and family.
