My mission as a counselor is simple: to help people feel empowered to face life’s challenges and build a more meaningful, fulfilling experience. I believe real change begins with connection, and my goal is to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they work toward greater balance and well-being.
My path into counseling began during my graduate studies at Lamar University, where I worked with high school students on issues ranging from emotional regulation and mindfulness to major life transitions like graduation and postsecondary planning. Those experiences, along with two decades of teaching children and adults, showed me the power of relationships in creating change. When people feel safe, respected, and genuinely listened to, they gain the courage to pursue their goals and grow in new ways.
In the counseling room, I take a client-centered and collaborative approach. I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and client-centered practices to meet each client where they are and tailor sessions to their needs. Whether working with children, teens, adults, or couples, I aim to foster trust, empowerment, and forward momentum.
I was born and raised in South Louisiana and moved to Texas at 18. For the past 20 years, I’ve taught students of all ages and abilities, with the last 15 years spent teaching psychology at the high school level. Those years deepened my understanding that we are all interconnected, and that every person brings their own unique strengths and challenges to the table. At home, I’m a proud mom of three young adult children who will always be the joy of my life. In my free time, I enjoy learning new things, spending time with friends, and walking my dog around the neighborhood.
